Hey, you won't believe what Max did at the park yesterday. There was this little puddle from the sprinklers and he just plopped down right in the middle of it and refused to move. He was completely soaked and just looked up at me with this goofy grin. I tried to lure him out with a treat but he wasn't having any of it. After about five minutes he jumped up and shook all the muddy water directly onto a guy sitting on a bench nearby. I was so mortified. The guy just laughed though, said his dog at home does the same thing. Anyway it took me an hour to clean the mud out of the car upholstery. I really need to start keeping a towel in the trunk. Have you ever had a day like that with your pets? Let me know if you want to meet up for a walk later this week—maybe somewhere without sprinklers.

I was thinking about the potluck this weekend and I'm totally stuck on what to bring. I was considering making that pasta salad with the sun-dried tomatoes but I'm worried it might be too basic. Everyone always brings pasta salad. Maybe I'll try that roasted chickpea thing we had at that cafe downtown. It was pretty good and it's vegan so it covers a few dietary preferences at once. Let me know if you've already signed up for something specific so we don't double up on sides. Also I can grab a couple bags of ice on the way over if you think we'll need more. I don't mind stopping at the store. Also just a heads up I might be a little late because I'm dog-sitting for my neighbor and his schedule is a bit unpredictable. I'll keep you posted.
