Only hours left until your Club points expire

Okay so when you asked about the best way to handle the rosemary bush before the first frost hits, I forgot to mention one thing about the soil drainage. You already have it in that raised bed near the fence, which is good, but if you add about two inches of coarse sand mixed into the top layer it will help prevent the roots from sitting in water all winter. Also remember to cut it back by maybe a third, but never into the woody stems because it will not regrow from there. The cuttings can go into a jar of water on the windowsill and they should root within three weeks. I would also suggest moving the terracotta pots inside the shed before temperatures drop below forty degrees at night.

You know the trail loop behind the old mill, the one that follows the creek for about two miles before it splits at the big oak tree? If you take the left fork there and keep going past the mossy rock pile, you eventually come to that clearing where the wild blackberries grow every July. We should plan to go out there again once the weather warms up. Last time we talked about bringing a lightweight tarp so we could sit and have lunch without getting all muddy. Also, I remember you said you wanted to try that new trail mix recipe with the dried cherries and dark chocolate chunks. That would be a good one to test out. Let me know if you'd prefer a weekday or a weekend.
The plumbing under the kitchen sink has been making that low rumbling sound every time the dishwasher drains, so I finally opened the cabinet to check and noticed the P-trap is a little loose around the connection to the wall pipe. I tightened the collar ring by hand but it still feels like it could use a fresh rubber washer. The good news is there's no drip yet, just a faint smell of damp air after each cycle. Tomorrow I'll pick up one of those washer kits from the hardware aisle and also grab some plumber's tape because the threads on the tailpiece look a bit worn. If that doesn't fix it, the next step is replacing the whole trap assembly, which isn't a big job. We can do it in maybe twenty minutes with a bucket and a wrench.

Hey, I was just thinking about the weekend plans we discussed. Honestly I think it could go either way, but I keep coming back to the idea of getting outside for a bit instead of staying in all day. The weather has been so unpredictable lately that it is hard to commit to anything too structured. I know last time we ended up changing plans at the last minute and it actually worked out better than expected. Maybe the same thing happens again. I was also catching up on some reading and came across a few interesting ideas about how people make decisions when they are tired. It sounds obvious, but apparently the quality drops off pretty fast after a certain point. That made me think we should probably settle this before the end of the day rather than letting it drag on. Anyway, no pressure either way. I just wanted to share what was on my mind before I forgot about it completely. Let me know what you think when you get a chance. I should be around for most of the afternoon, and then I have a thing later that might keep me busy for a bit.

Also, I started reorganizing the bookshelf the other day and found a stack of old notes I completely forgot existed. It was a strange mix of half-finished lists and little reminders that made no sense out of context. Most of it went into the recycling, but a few pages actually had some useful thoughts I might revisit later. It is funny how much stuff accumulates when you are not paying attention. On a completely different note, I tried a new recipe OCoyO4Cz3VMYZ1e that turned out better than expected, though I probably should have read the instructions more carefully before starting. The kitchen is a minor disaster zone now, but it was worth it. I think I will make it again next week with a couple of adjustments. Hope your day is going well.

That reminds me, I should probably go through the closet this weekend as well. It feels like every time I open the door I find something else I forgot about, and at this point it is more of a storage unit than a closet. I keep saying I will donate a few bags, but then I get distracted by something else and it never happens. Maybe this weekend is the one where I finally make a dent in it. I also need to check on the plant situation in the kitchen window. One of them is looking a little droopy and I cannot tell if it is too much water or not enough. I have a habit of overthinking things like that, which probably does not help. Meanwhile the one in the other room is thriving, so at least there is some balance. I was thinking about rearranging the furniture too, but that might be biting off more than I can chew for a single weekend. We will see how the energy holds up.

One more thing I forgot to mention earlier is that I came across an old playlist from a few summers ago. It was like a time capsule of everything I was listening to back then. Some of it holds up surprisingly well, and some of it is best left in the past. I ended up making a new list with a few of the better tracks and adding some recent finds. It has been on repeat all morning, which is probably why I got into a cleaning mood in the first place. Music has a way of shifting the whole atmosphere of a room. Anyway, I should wrap this up before I start rambling too much. Talk soon.

I'll be home later than usual tonight. I already told my brother I would stop at the hardware store after work. I need to pick up a new hose for the backyard. The old one split near the faucet last weekend. I checked the store hours, and they close at 8 PM. That gives me enough time. I also want to get gas on the way back. The tank is under a quarter full. I should be at the house around 9 PM or a little after. I will text you when I leave the store. I have my phone charged now. I put the charger in my bag this morning. There is no need to wait for me for dinner. I will heat up whatever is left in the fridge. I saw the pasta from Tuesday is still in there. I can eat that. I will let you know if anything changes.

Action required: your AARP membership for 2026 has updated

I stopped at the grocery store after work today. I was out of milk and bread, and I also needed to get some chicken for tomorrow. I got there around 5:45 PM, and the parking lot was busy but I found a spot near the cart return. I used a small cart because I did not need much. The milk was on sale for $3.99 a gallon, which is about a dollar less than last week. They were out of the bread I usually buy, so I got the store brand instead. It cost $2.19 and looks fine. I paid at the self-checkout and was back in the car by 6:10 PM. Traffic was light on the way home, so I got here around 6:30 PM. I put the milk and chicken in the fridge right away. I will use the chicken tomorrow night and the new bread for toast in the morning.

I missed the morning session on Tuesday because I left my notes in the car and had to go back. When I got there, everyone was already done and the chairs were being put away. I looked at my calendar later and saw that the week before it started at 9:30. I asked Sam if we could push next week's time to 1:15, and he said that works better for him too. I am going to set a reminder on my phone for 12:45 so I have time to walk over from the other building. We also agreed to meet in the small room by the printer instead of the main hall. I will bring a copy of the updated list so no one has to wait on me again.

Your Kroger points expire soon-convert today, thank you

Honestly, I think the easiest way to handle the whole thing is to just make a list and then ignore half of it. Happens every time I try to be organized.

You know how it goes, right? You open the cabinet, see the same three boxes you bought months ago, and then end up ordering something completely different anyway.

The other day I found a container of oats tucked behind the tea. Pretty sure it was from last spring. Still fine, but it made me wonder how many other things are hiding back there.

My coworker said she reorganizes her pantry every season, which sounds great in theory but I know I'd just move the same stuff around and call it done. Not exactly progress.

Anyway, if you need a hand moving things or just want company while you sort through everything, say the word. I make a decent snack run and I'm good at holding open trash bags with zero judgment.

It's kind of wild how much space we gain when we finally clear out the clutter, even if it's only a shelf or two. Guess half the battle is just starting somewhere small.

Let me know how the weekend turns out. I've got no plans besides maybe sweeping the balcony and finally using that old radio.

Oh, and if you see my blue mug anywhere, can you set it aside? I think I left it at the last get-together but I haven't had time to check my car either.

Hey, thanks for asking about the shelf brackets. I actually picked up two of the heavier-duty ones from the hardware store last weekend and they've been great so far.

The install took maybe a half hour, mostly because I kept dropping the screws and had to fish them out from under the counter with a butter knife.

The trick is to mark the pilot holes with a pencil before you do anything else, especially if your wall has the old plaster over concrete like mine does.

Also, a small level makes a big difference. I borrowed one from my neighbor and now I'm probably going to get my own because the bubble on mine never sits still.

I went with the matte black finish and honestly it looks pretty sharp with the lighter wood shelf I put on top. No regrets there at all, even if it took me three tries to get the spacing right.

If you want, I can send a couple of photos of how it looks now, or you could swing by this weekend and see for yourself. I'll probably be out back trying to fix the hose anyway.

Either way, you should be able to handle it with a drill and a little patience. Don't be afraid to measure twice, but don't overthink it either.

Good luck with the project and let me know if you need the extra anchors I have left over from the package.

I stopped at the grocery store on the way home from work today. I got there around 5:40, and the parking lot was about half full. I mainly needed milk, bread, eggs, and a couple of frozen dinners for the week. The price of eggs went up again since last month, so I bought the store brand instead of the usual one. I also grabbed a bag of coffee because the one at home is almost empty. The checkout line moved faster than I expected, and I was back in the car by 6:15. I put the cold items in the fridge as soon as I got home. Tomorrow I will make a list before I go so I do not wander around as much.

Sorry for the delay. It should be fine, I just need to wrap up one thing first.

I followed up on the room reservation earlier today. The main conference room was already booked for Tuesday, so I asked about the smaller one near the front desk. That one is open from 1 to 3 PM, but they told me the projector cable is missing. I asked them to check with IT before tomorrow. I also told them we might need to move it to Thursday if the cable is not there by noon. I left my number with the front desk, and they said they would call me back today by 5. I have not heard anything yet, so I will call again after 4:30.

I've been working from home this month, but I'll be back in the office next week. My internet has been cutting out during the afternoons, so I need the wired connection there. I checked my desk and it's still set up from before. I'm planning to get in around 8:30 and leave by 5 like usual.
