We were trying to figure out the best day for the neighborhood clean-up and I think Saturday morning around nine would work better for most of us since the heat hasn't fully set in yet. That way we can finish before lunch and maybe grab sandwiches at the corner deli afterward. I checked with the community center and they said we can borrow the rakes and trash bags as long as we return them by Monday. My cousin mentioned he has a pickup truck we could use for hauling the larger branches to the compost site, so that solves the transportation issue. Regarding the potluck next Thursday, I was thinking we could do a taco bar instead of the usual pasta selection since it is easy to set up and people can customize their own plates. I will bring the seasoned ground turkey and the black beans, and my sister offered to make her roasted corn salsa. We still need someone to volunteer for dessert and maybe some fresh guacamole. The community room at the library is booked from six to eight, so we have plenty of time for setup and clean up. If anyone has dietary restrictions, please let me know by Tuesday so we can adjust the toppings accordingly. Also, do you think we should have a sign outside so new members can find us more easily?
