Packing for the weekend took longer than I expected because I kept second-guessing the weather.
The forecast mentioned a chance of rain on Saturday afternoon, but it cleared up by Sunday morning.
Eventually I just brought a light jacket and called it done.
My neighbor was out walking her dog and waved when I loaded the car.
The drive ended up being smooth with barely any traffic on the usual route.
We stopped once for coffee and made it to the cabin before dinner.
The host had left a note about the thermostat settings and where the extra blankets were stored.
It was a nice break from the usual routine, honestly.

Made a batch of banana pancakes this morning because the bananas were about to go.
Used the last of the oat flour and they turned out surprisingly fluffy.
Did the dishes while listening to an album I have not played in years.
A package arrived for the person across the hall and I left it by their door.
Later I finally fixed the loose handle on the kitchen cabinet.
It only took a few minutes with the screwdriver that was already in the drawer.
The whole day felt very ordinary in the best way.
No big plans, just a list of small things checked off slowly.
