0maha's Steak Sampler Is Yours - Just 5OO Left - Today Only

Yes I think the trail up near the ridge would be better for Saturday since the lower path tends to hold water after a rainy week. We saw a few groups heading that way last time and they said the view from the lookout point was worth the extra climb. I spoke with the ranger station yesterday and they mentioned the wildflowers are still blooming along the eastern slope so that might be nice to see. We should plan to leave around seven to get parking before it fills up. I can bring the cooler with sandwiches and fruit if you handle the coffee and maybe some blankets for sitting. Let me know if you want to stop at the market on the way for anything else. I think three or four hours on the trail would give us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and still be back before dark. The weather report says partly cloudy with a light breeze so it should be comfortable for walking. I will text you tomorrow evening to confirm.

I read through the recipe you sent and I think the herb marinade would work well with chicken thighs if you let it sit for a couple of hours before cooking. The lemon and rosemary combination is pretty versatile and I have used something similar for grilled vegetables in the past. I tried making a version of that sauce last week with a bit of garlic and white wine and it turned out nicely. You could probably swap the thyme for oregano if that is what you have on hand. I usually find that the key is to let the meat come to room temperature before putting it on the heat so it cooks evenly. Let me know if you want me to bring a side dish when I come over. I was thinking a simple roasted potato medley with some peppers would go well with it. I have a new spice blend I have been testing and it might pair nicely with the marinade you are using. We can compare notes after we try both approaches.
