Thanks for the notes on the workshop outline. I think the best way to structure it is to start with the hands-on portion and then move into the discussion afterward. That way people have a shared experience to reference during the conversation. The materials list looks good overall but I might swap out one of the examples for something that relates more directly to the local context. I reached out to the venue coordinator and they confirmed the room will be set up with round tables which should work well for group work. Parking is available in the lot behind the building and they said we can use the side entrance after six. Let me know if you want me to prepare a short handout or if you prefer to keep it more informal. I can also bring extra supplies just in case more people show up than expected. The registration count is at twenty-two so far which is a good size for this format. I will plan to arrive about thirty minutes early to set things up and test the audio.
One thing I wanted to ask about is whether we should record the session for people who cannot attend in person. It might be helpful to have a recording available afterward, especially since several people expressed interest but had schedule conflicts. Let me know what you think and I can arrange the equipment if needed.

I think the best time to do the porch project would be the weekend after next, since the weather forecast looks clear and I will have the tools ready by then. We need to start by checking the existing supports and replacing any that show signs of wear. The lumber order should arrive on Thursday so I can stage everything in the garage beforehand. I already spoke with the neighbor about noise and they said weekday mornings are fine as long as we wrap up by early afternoon. I plan to break the work into two main phases: demo and prep on Saturday, then assembly and finishing on Sunday. That should give us enough time to handle any surprises that come up.
For the stain color I am leaning toward a natural cedar tone since it will match the trim well and hold up better in direct sun. Let me know if you have a different preference. I can grab a sample can this week so we can test it on a scrap piece before committing. Also, I will bring the extension ladder and a few extra clamps in case we need them. We should plan on having lunch together both days and I will handle the drinks and snacks. Let me know if you think of anything else we might need and I will add it to the list.
