I finally tried that new coffee shop on Elm Street and honestly I get the hype now. The pour-over was smooth and the seating area is set up perfectly for reading. They have these little nooks with armchairs and warm lighting so you can actually sit for a couple hours without feeling rushed. I brought my current book and finished two chapters before my coffee even got cold. The barista recommended a single-origin from Ethiopia that had this blueberry note I wasn't expecting but totally worked. I think I found my new weekend spot. The only downside is parking can be tight but if you go before 10am it's fine. I might try their cold brew next time since apparently they steep it for 24 hours. Anyway just thought I'd share because I know you've been looking for a good place to read that isn't the library or a chain.

Hey I finally got around to planting those herbs you recommended and they are thriving. The basil has already sprouted like crazy and the mint took off within a week. I used that potting mix from the garden center and put them on the kitchen windowsill where they get morning sun. I've been watering them every other day and they look so much better than I expected. The rosemary is a bit slower but I think it just needs more time. I already used some of the basil in a pasta dish last night and it was incredible fresh. I'm thinking about trying tomatoes next but I need to figure out where to put them since the windowsill only fits small pots. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping the mint from taking over because I hear it can get aggressive. Thanks again for the suggestion.
