I checked the trail this morning and it was actually a great choice to go early because the path stayed quiet for a while.
I brought extra water, wore the lighter shoes, and kept a steady pace instead of trying to rush the first half.
The overlook was clearer than I expected, and the air felt cool enough that I stayed longer than planned.
I did take the longer route back because the shorter section was still muddy from yesterday.
If you go tomorrow, I would definitely suggest starting before the crowds show up and taking a light jacket just in case.
I also think you would like the side path near the trees since it has more shade and a calmer stretch.
I am still a little tired, but in the good way where it feels like the day was well used.
