Hey thanks for asking about that trail. It was actually really well maintained and the views at the top were totally worth the early start. We packed way too much food though ended up carrying half of it back down. The weather was perfect not too hot just a light breeze at the summit. I saw a couple of deer near the creek about halfway up they just stood there watching us for a few minutes before moving on. The wildflowers were incredible this time of year mostly purple and yellow patches scattered along the path. I need to remember to bring more water next time I ran out about a mile from the end and that last stretch was rough. Overall it was a great day outside exactly what I needed after a long week. Let me know if you want the map link I can send it over. It's about a 3-hour drive from the city but totally doable for a day trip if you leave early enough.
We stopped for lunch at that little diner near the park entrance and the pie was amazing. I had the cherry crumble and my friend got the pecan. Both were served warm with ice cream on top. The service was super friendly too. I think we sat there for almost an hour just resting and refueling before the drive back. I would definitely recommend going during the week if you can it was pretty quiet and we had the trail mostly to ourselves. Let me know if you end up planning a trip out there I might join if my schedule works out.

Yeah I finally got around to organizing the garage last weekend. It took way longer than I expected mostly because I kept finding old boxes of stuff I forgot I had. Found some old college textbooks and a bunch of CDs. I ended up making a pile for donations and another for trash. The shelves are actually visible now which feels like a huge win. I still need to figure out what to do with all the holiday decorations they take up a ton of space. Maybe I look into those vacuum storage bags. Anyway it feels good to have that project done. Next up is the closet in the spare bedroom but I am not looking forward to that one. Hope you are having a good week so far talk soon.
I also started reading that book you recommended last month. I am about halfway through and really enjoying it. The writing style is so descriptive it feels like you are right there in the story. I have been staying up way too late reading because I cannot put it down. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for when I finish this one.
