Hey, thanks for your note. I finally got around to testing that bread recipe you sent me last week. It turned out way better than I expected. The loaf had a nice crust and the inside was soft. I used a little less salt than it called for and I think that helped. My kids ate nearly half of it right out of the oven. Let me know if you want me to send you the tweaked version I ended up using. Also, I saw your message about the weekend trip. I think Saturday works best for us if we can leave by mid-morning. The traffic should be lighter that time of day. I was thinking we could pack sandwiches and stop at that rest area with the playground so the kids can run around for a bit. Let me know what you all think. We are flexible on timing if another day works better for your crew. I just need to be back by late afternoon because we have that thing at the community center. It should be fun to finally get everyone together after all these months of scheduling conflicts. Hope you are feeling better. That cold going around sounds rough.

I finally finished reorganizing the garage last weekend and it feels like a whole new space. I found boxes of old photos and yearbooks from high school that I had completely forgotten about. My mom came over and we spent an afternoon going through everything. She kept laughing at some of the hairstyles and outfits. I also came across that set of ceramic mugs you gave me years ago. They were packed away in a box of kitchen stuff I never unpacked after the move. I washed them up and they look great. I have been using one every morning this week. On another note, I started that pottery class I mentioned. It is harder than it looks on social media. My first bowl ended up looking more like a wavy dish. The instructor said it is fine for a first attempt. There is a guy in the class who makes these really delicate little vases and I am hoping to get to that level eventually. It is nice to have a hobby that does not involve screens. I come home with clay under my nails and actually feel like I made something with my hands. You should try a class sometime. I think you would enjoy the rhythm of the wheel once you get past the messy part.
