I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me. It's been about a week and it's actually bubbling nicely! I fed it this morning and it doubled in size within a few hours. I'm thinking of attempting my first loaf this weekend. Any tips for getting a good crust? The weather here has been pretty humid, so I'm worried it might affect the fermentation. We adopted a rescue puppy last weekend and he's been keeping us on our toes. He's a mix of about three different herding breeds, so he has endless energy. We've already gone through two pairs of shoes and one very traumatized couch cushion. But honestly, he's so sweet and cuddly when he finally crashes. We started basic obedience training this week and he already knows how to sit (most of the time). The kids are absolutely in love with him. Anyway, just wanted to share the good news. Hope you have a great week ahead! We should plan a park visit soon so the dogs can meet. Let me know if you have any favorite dog-friendly spots in the area.
